Narrative Pig Hag (2019):
Single 36-year-old travel nurse, Jodie, thinks maybe something is wrong with her. Harassed by her sisters and flooded with images of others on social media, Jodie obsesses over whether she will meet someone, if all men are garbage, and if her ‘uterus will rot out’ before she has children. While at a Gun's N' Roses concert, she meets Dustin and is hopeful she has finally met her potential match -- until he ghosts on her the next day. Overwhelmed, Jodie’s four gay best friends are by her side as she confronts hard truths and figures out her next move. Pig Hag looks at how society’s expectations for women may influence their barometer for success and the choices they make.Movie details

Pig Hag is less a traditional film narrative, but more a glimpse into Jodie’s life over a handful of days. The film is not about trolling or one-night stands, but about the difficulties of finding love for people in L.A. who are not hot actresses or skinny fitness models. For Jodie, her idea of finding real-romance is shattered, and she turns ...
Pig Hag is a movie that breaks your heart is such a beautiful way, that it makes you hate and love the world in which it takes place. Jodie represents so many of today's young women: Breaking under the pressure of social media and societal expectations; lost in a sea of loneliness that is only amplified by the seemingly happy crowds around her.
Pig Hag is a fascinatingly polarizing film by design; on one hand, it’s a cruel, tough love tale that intimately portrays a woman seeking her basic needs through any means necessary. On the other hand, it cruelly mocks her inability to compromise as she’s jaded by men who “ghost” her and proposes to her posse a way of feeling whole that ...
Pig Hag, written by Colby Holt and co-directed Holt and Samuel Probst, is not an easy movie to watch, much less write about. In fact, I’m certain that I’m the wrong person to write about it. It speaks to a very female set of experiences, while also drilling down into a very specific type of female experience. And it does so by casting a harsh, unflinching light on its subject and how she is ...

"Pig Hag" is a story of a young woman who seeks out love and companionship She offers the same in abundant return, and what she lacks in perfect conventional attractiveness, she makes up for in sensuality and dedication to an art form. Her willingness to nurture a lover and share a raucous good time with him (whichever the occasion is) makes ...
